Down 1-0 to Rutgers on Friday afternoon, No. 17 Temple came back and won 2-1 to improve its record to 7-2 this season.

Freshman forward Katie Foran scored both of the Owls’ goals in a breakout performance and is likely to get the start on Sunday against Sacred Heart, according to coach Amanda Janney.

Rutgers scored eight and a half minutes into the game on Friday, but Temple’s defense and goalkeeping continued their success by keeping Rutgers off the board for the rest of the game.

Redshirt junior goalkeeper Lizzy Millen made two saves on Friday, with her and the Owls’ defense now holding opponents to below two goals per game in 2013.

Temple will be facing a Sacred Heart team that has dropped its last three games, with its last defeat being a 9-0 shutout from No. 11 Albany on Friday.

The Pioneers (3-5) lost the two games prior to Holy Cross and Fairfield by one-goal deficits.

This will be the first ever matchup between Temple and Sacred Heart.
